Rotimi Fani-Kayode (1955-1989)

Fani-Kayode and Hirst created a photographic world in which the body is the focal site for an exploration of the relationship between erotic fantasy and ancestral spiritual values.

What they brought back from their travels into such nocturnal spaces are glimpses into a world illuminated by the ancient enigma of something so violent, so marvellous and so tragic as to be unrepresentable: the human condition of ecstasy. Published posthumously, this publication documents Fani-Kayode and Hirst's intensively productive collaborations, which spanned a mere six years.
